Roger Bullivant Ltd (RBL) and E.ON UK (E.ON) have submitted a planning application for the Drakelow Park site near Burton on Trent, to deliver a sustainable mixed-use scheme to meet local housing, employment and recreational needs.
Drakelow is situated in South Derbyshire. Burton upon Trent lies to the north, Swadlincote to the east, Walton on Trent to the south and the A38 to the west.
Roger Bullivant Ltd (RBL) operates a manufacturing business on its site which incorporates more than 100 planning permissions, some of which are for temporary buildings.
E.ON received government consent to build a highly efficient gas-fired power station at Drakelow in October 2007 and has recently applied for an extension to the project to increase the site's generating potential.
The 110 hectare Drakelow Park is bounded by the National Forest freight railway line, agricultural land, the River Trent and a nature reserve. It sits within an established mature woodland area, with the Darklands Brook flowing through the site.
